Entrepreneurship Education:

The Byrd's Entrepreneurial Institute (The B.E.I.) Youth Summer Entrepreneur Program

The Youth Summer Entrepreneurship Program at The Byrd's Entrepreneurial Institute (The B.E.I.), coming summer 2025, is designed to inspire and empower Minority youth ages 13-18. This program focuses on providing school-to-career employment opportunities, equipping young entrepreneurs with the skills and knowledge needed to create and sustain successful businesses. Each year, we aim to serve a minimum of 25 youth across our various programs.

Program Objectives:

  1. Promote entrepreneurship as a viable career path.

  2. Equip youth with practical business skills and knowledge.

  3. Foster a mindset of innovation and resilience.

  4. Provide mentorship and networking opportunities.

  5. Encourage community engagement and social responsibility.

Program Structure:

The program is divided into two Weeks: a 1-week program with their Entrepreneur Mentor + Business Theory and 1-week Creating their business, designed to cater to different levels of entrepreneurial experience and commitment.

Program Components:

  1. Workshops and Seminars:

    • Interactive workshops covering key topics such as business planning, marketing, and financial literacy.

    • Seminars featuring successful entrepreneurs sharing their experiences and insights.

  2. Networking Opportunities:

    • Networking events connecting participants with local business leaders and potential investors.

    • Alumni network for ongoing support and collaboration.

  3. Practical Experience:

    • Hands-on projects and assignments to apply learned concepts.

    • Opportunities to pitch business ideas to a panel of judges for feedback and potential funding.

  4. Community Engagement:

    • Encouraging participants to engage with their communities through entrepreneurial projects.

    • Promoting social responsibility and community impact.

Application Process:

  • Interested participants must submit an application form outlining their interest in entrepreneurship and any existing business ideas.

  • Selected candidates will be invited for an interview to assess their fit for the program.

  • Successful applicants will receive a formal invitation to join the program.
